A healthy military work life balance is crucial for our lives. I have learned this over 18 years in the military with multiple deployments, TDYs, and countless sacrifices. As a result, I have spent a lot of time away from loved ones, missing birthdays, holidays, anniversaries etc. In addition, even when I am not away, I am distracted and consumed with work responsibilities. Deadlines, looming decisions, personal issues regarding your troops… all can weigh heavily on someone.
Moreover, trying to focus on personal well-being while putting others above yours is another unseen sacrifice many military members make.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned; having a solid military work life balance is not easy. It’s a mission, all on its own.
Between long hours, TDYs, and the weight of responsibility, it can feel like we’re being pulled in a dozen directions. But here’s the thing: we’re not just service members. We’re dads, husbands, leaders, and providers.
So, I created Military Dad Life—a place for fellow military dads (active duty, guard, reserve, and veterans) to connect, share experiences, and to level up in fatherhood, fitness, finances, and life after service.

Mission: Healthy Work Life Balance
I’m on a mission to help military dads thrive—not just survive. The hope of me starting this blog is to help men become better husbands, fathers, and leaders our community. In order to achieve this, we need to level up our fitness, focus, and fulfillment. I want to create content that shows military members that they are not alone on their journey, and that there is always a way forward. So, if you’re ready to take command of your physical, mental, and spiritual health to be the best version of you, then you’re in the right place.
